January 31, 2016 Jane’s Heart to Heart Pastor’s Help Mate
ON January 9th our grandson, Wesley Pierpont married Dylan Thomas In TX and they are now living in Grand Rapids. She got a job with David’s House Ministries, who care for developmentally disabled and traumatic brain-injured adults. Their motivation is based on Matthew 25:40 “The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
Matthew 6:30-34 MSG
Sometimes it is extremely easy to forget His word and to let worry and anxiety weigh you down. To get so caught up in the world that we forget the One who created it. Reading His word this morning reminds me of how good and faithful our Father is.
I believe worry and faith have a direct correlation. In times where I feel overwhelmed or see the people I love burdened, I not only read this truth, but believe and trust in it. I encourage anyone reading this to do the same.
Circumstances do not determine the goodness of our Father. God promised us that with Him nothing is impossible and I think it’s time we live a life that reflects that kind of trust and faith. It’s impossible to live in bondage when you know and receive the love that set us free. “
That was sweet Dylan’s post on FB.
It was so true, and it sounds like she is trying to help her friend and family to rely on God’s promises. Never doubt the love and the goodness of God to you. He doesn’t promise a storm-free life but He does promise to be the anchor in the storm so that you will not be overcome!
Trust Him daily. Trust Him hourly and learn to trust Him moment by moment. His resources will not only get you through but you will truly grow to experience Him as the source of hope overflowing “by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
This is not just a promise to “get by” or to be a “survivor” Yes. it’s supernatural, it’s God’s part. Remember His kindness toward us in the middle of our difficult circumstances.
