Victory Through Christ

2 Corinthians 4:7-10 (KJV)  7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.    8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;                9. Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Victory over the penalty of sin = through forgiveness  and immediate forgiveness as soon as we confess our sins and receive Christ as our Saviour. This union with Christ is the foundational concept of the life of grace. Christ’s resurrection demonstrated His victory over sin. Now that you are united with Christ in His resurrection, you have the victory over sin. Consider this as true! Believe it! You are saved by God’s grace and you are on the victory side! (Romans 6:13, 16, 19).

Victory over death – Christ’s death was sufficient

We are to present—to yield or offer—our bodies to God. This involves responsibility to serve.  Yes, Works. Not to save us but a result of our salvation.  Don’t go on presenting the members of your body to sin. The picture is of a soldier presenting his weapons to his commander and awaiting his instructions. Sin uses the members of your body to wage war against you.  It is important that Born again Christian set about to serve him.

Revelation 12:10   “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night”.

One of satan’s campaigns against God is in the area of trying to break our trust of God, such as in Job, and the Book of Revelation says that satan is, has been and will be doing that “day and night”.

Let us be faithful in prayer for one another the the Lord will give Christian victory over satan’s attempt to sidetrack us on our journey for Christ.

Victory over the presence of sin – heavenly rewards will be separation from sin.

We all need to come to the place where we can join God on his side of the heavenly battle, in JOY, defeating satan.

We can softly and confidently say to God our Father,

“I don’t understand, but I love you and trust in YOU. Don’t let me waver nor let You down in this battle.  Thank you, Lord,  for the victories you have won for me by your death on the cross.  Thank you for assurance of salvation and life after death.  Lord, give me daily JOY and victory over sin .”

(small ’s’ on satan is my desire in my life the Lord helping me)

Spiritually Edifying gifts…

At this time of year, we are often scurrying around and brainstorming what special gift we can give to those special people in our lives.

I like challenges… So here we go….. I challenge you to sit down and make a list and try to think of ways to give gifts that will help your loved ones grow spiritually or for those who do not know Christ, gifts that will point them to Christ a little at a time.

I am sure that you have heard of “My Hope” with Billy Graham.  (https://myhopewithbillygraham.org/)  You could purchase a quantity of them available on the internet or if you do not have internet, I can order for you.   This short DVD has the Gospel message for the lost and Billy Graham is encouraging those who already know Christ to invite friends into their homes and share it with others.   This would be a great gift for your Christian friend to help them become burdened to win others to Christ. Give Bibles or spiritual books such as devotional books which parents can read to  their children rather than toys which will end up in the bottom of the toy box and this will encourage the parents to read to their children and begin a habit of having family devotions daily.  Do the children in your life know that you love the Lord Jesus with all your heart?  Make little crafts with them that have a spiritual emphasis.  Make a recording of yourself reading a book and give them the book so that they can listen and read along while listening to Auntie or Grandma or yes, Grandpa reading. What a keepsake that would be.  How about a T-Shirt or a sweatshirt with a Scripture on it, or “Jesus Loves YOU?”

The time is short and I am not talking about  Christmas. I am talking about the fact that Jesus is coming soon.  It is urgent that we who know Christ, win those to the Saviour who do not know Him.

The Gideons have beautiful Christmas cards  which you can purchase. I am sure they will share about that today.

Go to www.kristinsfriends.com and ask for the free gospel tract called      “Gone, in the Twinkling of an Eye”, which you can have as many as you can prayerfully use to share the way to be saved. It is the story of a young 17-year-old girl who died suddenly of a blood clot in her brain who was a Christian and her parents wanted to make a difference for Christ in her memory.

I also have a great deal available for a KJV Scripture memory DVD for just $10. (Usually $17.99). I do not make anything on these. It has seventy-nine  Scriptures with little activities and stories that explain what those Scriptures mean.

Deut. 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
