God Is Still On The Throne….

God Is Still On The Throne….

flag-63f6642b64e106a8947daafa44e52b21Reminder to us all…. God is Still on the Throne.
Many Christians prayed and now we are trusting Him.

Isaiah 26:3-4

“3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in Thee.
4.Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”
We can have peace and JOY in these hard times.
Now it is our job to continue to pray for our leaders…. Many Christian leaders have emphasized PRAYER to the Lord JEHOVAH and I am especially thankful for Franklin Graham, Ann Graham Lotz and Nancy DeMoss and many others who raised awareness of Christian’s need to pray and get out and vote.

I am thankful also for the strong testimony of Vice Pres. elect, Mike Pence.

I personally want to encourage all of my friends to pray fervently for our leaders, and fellow Christian to strive to make a difference for Christ, in your homes, churches, and communities.
1. to personally pray more (not like a rabbit’s foot) but for His perfect will in your own personal life.
2. to read your Bibles
3. to go and take every member of your family, faithfully to a solid Bible preaching Church.

For many years I have heard professing Christians saying, “we need the 10 Commandments, the Bible, and God back in our schools, etc.”, yet there is very little evidence that there is Bible reading and instruction in the Word, nor Church attendance, in those homes.

Often when we talk with those who say they are saved it is very obvious that Christ is not first, Bible reading is not first, church attendance is not first. If you love God and truly want to serve God, you will want to run to church, you will want to share Him with others. You will want to choose the things for your children that will make them better servants of Christ. Some parents do not even know if their children are saved nor do they pray for them. Many professing Christians put far more emphasis and money, sports, travel, and entertainment, watching “dancing with the falling Stars”,  you name it; than they do on seeing to it that their children give their talent to him for His glory.

We seem to be better at using the Scriptures to prove the questionable practices we can participate in.

These things are caught, faster than they are taught… Be an Example.
Parents: read Deuteronomy 6:6-9

March 13, 2016  Jane’s Heart to Heart…  Pastor’s Help Mate

This is the testimony of Liza Miller who has a BS in Biblical Counseling from Bob Jones University and is a wife and a mother of two little boys. She and her husband Phil are now members at Northeastern Baptist in Kalamazoo, serving the Lord faithfully.

LIZA’S TESTIMONY

In the last week of January of 1993, I was attending a revival meeting at Northwest Valley Baptist Church in Glendale, Arizona. Although I had grown up believing in God the Father, in His Son Jesus’ death and resurrection, and in the Holy Spirit, it was all a head knowledge that did not affect my life very much. Also, I grew up thinking that, in addition to believing in God, it was necessary for me to do certain good works in order to earn my way into heaven.

While attending Northwest Valley for a couple years as a preteen, I learned many truths from the Bible that I had not previously understood. I learned that God is the holy Creator of all things and that my sin separated me from God. I also learned that the punishment for my sin was eternal death in hell and in the lake of fire. The Scriptures also teach that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life fulfilling all of God’s laws and that He died on the cross for our sins and that Christ rose again to life three days later. In addition, I learned that God offers eternal life to those who trust in His Son by FAITH, by faith alone. “For by grace are you saved through FAITH, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, NOT of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Since I really did want to be saved from my sin, I asked God to save me. However, I wasn’t sure if I was praying the right words, so I kept on asking God to save me again and again.

Then, in January of 1993, during revival week at Northwest Valley, everything changed! As I sat listening to Evangelist Steve Pettit, he said that God is not a liar. Steve said that God promises, “Whosoever calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). He said that if we call on the Lord to be saved, he will save us; and then . . . as we grow in Christ, the assurance of our salvation will grow. IT ALL MADE SENSE THAT EVENING! God gave me the understanding that it was NOT the prayer that I prayed that saved me but it was only BELIEVING and TRUSTING in Jesus’ death and resurrection which would grant me eternal life. No good works could ever save me, including the prayers I prayed. So, that evening I asked God to forgive me of my sins and trusted in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I called on the Lord, and He saved me. I have not had one single doubt of my salvation since that night. It has been crystal clear to me from so many Scriptures that God is the One who saved me and the One who keeps me; my salvation is based on what Jesus Christ did for me, not because of anything that I have ever done.

I praise the Lord for the new birth that He provided for me 23 years ago!!

Have you been born again?
